Illustration Friday: Play

It's been awhile since I've played with watercolors. This didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted it too, but I can't expect much when I've only begun experimenting. The subject matter was probably influenced by Mark Ryden mixed with a little bit of Japanese animation. I've been on an animation kick lately, which is sparking all kinds of ideas, and motivations. You can view the original sketch on my sketchbook blog.

I love mark ryden but I could never afford his prints or books
:( Your illo is rather special. I like it :) especially the black coloured baloons tied to strands of hair.

Thanks everyone for such great comments! It's keeping me motivated to do more with watercolors and keep up with this style!

I actually had a sketch of a detached body flying that I was going to use, but decided to go with the original instead! hhhmmm... maybe there'll be a series?!!
