It's been awhile since I've played with watercolors. This didn't exactly turn out the way I wanted it too, but I can't expect much when I've only begun experimenting. The subject matter was probably influenced by Mark Ryden mixed with a little bit of Japanese animation. I've been on an animation kick lately, which is sparking all kinds of ideas, and motivations. You can view the original sketch on my sketchbook blog.

Here's the original sketch.

A friend took a pic from his camera phone.. it's a little blurry, but I had to post it anyway.
Our wedding cake topper was a little unique, although the idea isn't new. J.D. and I nicknamed each other 'Monkey' which sounds wierd when we call each other from across the grocery store! I decided to use that in part of the wedding details, and created this monkey sculpture of 'us' for the top of our wedding cake. We'll be married four years in July! Yay, we made it!
I had to add a little decor around them, to make it feel more festive. I liked how it turned out!
Cheers!

Bot thought he'd get through the night babysitting his next door neighbor's little girl, Liza. Little did he know that after numerous screaming tantrums, and persistant tackles to the lower region, he would admit defeat, and let Liza have her way. Poor little Bunny-Bot. *sigh
This was done a few years ago, but thought it was appropriate for this weeks topic! I'm not really sure how to categorize him, since he almost has a folky type art about him, but than it's also an abstract, hhhmmm.
Here's the full view of the entire piece. Still needs some work and perfecting, but he's cool, I think I'll keep 'im.
